So many parents need to understand that playing time doesnt - TopicsExpress

So many parents need to understand that playing time doesnt define the coaches relationship with your daughter. If she doesnt start or get a ton of playing time it doesnt mean the coach doesnt like her. (In most occasions.) It just means someone is beating her out. The correct thing to tell your daughter is simply, work harder. Parents are stuck in the mindset of everybody should be able to play, its not fair, she just doesnt like my daughter, or no playing time = I quit. Cmon what are we teaching this generation? News flash . . life isnt fair. There is always going to be someone who is bigger, faster, stronger, or better in life. So when that happens do we just quit or do we do a better job? Do we waste time having a pity party or do we get out in the yard and do lonely work? One thing is for sure, hard work ALWAYS pays off. If you arent where you want to be in a sport, at work, with your health, etc. WORK HARDER! Parents, stop giving your children excuses. Look at them reassure them that they CAN do it, and to get out there and work harder. It only hurts them in the long run if you dont. Take a second to teach them about life, rather that looking at the smaller picture.
