So many people think TOURISM when they talk about the ferry. Every day I see a different impact of restored ferry service when I look out my living room window. Massive renovations have been underway for months (and will continue for many more) on one of the finest historic buildings in Yarmouth. The family that bought the Bishops House have employed people to resurface their driveway, maintain their lawns and gardens, and tackle the complete repair to, and painting of, the exterior of the home. Tremendous improvements have also been made to the interior of this house through local businesses. The reestablishment of ferry service was a significant factor in the decision to purchase this home. Thats ONE building. Im sure similar stories could be told of many others throughout the region.
