So most of you know Emalyn was born with a congenital heart defect. What most dont know is she was also born with congenital tracheamalashia as well. With the things she was born with come complications of her heart surgery. The left vocal cord paralysis and chronic aspiration. Per the last trip to Dell Childrens, she still had no function of her left vocal cord and that in combination with her trachea issues and chronic aspiration means she will be tube fed for a while longer. This is not the news we wanted but we can work with it. Emmy wants to eat, she sees her sister with a bottle and licks her lips she sees you eating and she shoves her fist in her mouth. This is very encouraging should she get to eat by mouth. We have her occupational therapist coming once a week to help make sure she doesnt fall behind.
