So most of you know that I rarely get up on any soap boxes on FB but right now I have to. Most of you also know that I recently wrote and released a book. Today I found out that it is on a pirating site and people are downloading it for free. It costs $3.00 on Amazon. Youd be surprised about how little of that goes to me. I never download music illegally - seriously - I dont take things that dont belong to me and I dont steal. I work hard for everything that I have and I respect that the people selling it have worked hard too. I cant tell you how much of myself I put into this book and that someone thinks its ok to steal it pisses me off. I have found out the hard way that artists (writers, musicians, painters etc) really dont make very much as a whole. Some do - but even they should not have their art taken without their permission. Most dont do it for the money either. They do it because they have to, because it makes them who they are. So if you are one of those people who think its cool to take what you havent paid for - shame on you. If you cant afford it or unwilling to pay for it, you shouldnt have it. Period.
