So much carnage in the world. How many millions have been killed? How many women raped? How many infants and children killed mercilessly? How many nations tortured? How many regions colonially occupied by oppressive regimes? How many brutal leaders came and went? How many historical instances of genocide and gruesome brutality based on fascism and racism? It becomes disheartening, you give up on people, you give up on whats good and whats bad. It makes you despair. Then you come to realise that Allah is the One who is awaiting the Meeting of that Day, the Day when there will be no shade except His Shade, the Day when the scales will be brought forth, when the innocent child will be asked: for what crime were you killed?, when the mouths will be sealed and the heart, the limbs and the flesh of the skin will testify to the actions of humanity, when the recompense shall begin, when the judgement and establishment of perfect infinite justice shall be done. And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror]. [Surah Ibraaheem; verse 42]
