So much has been said, sung and written about the eyes that leaves - TopicsExpress

So much has been said, sung and written about the eyes that leaves us wondering if there is actually anything more left to be confessed. If you want to know if someone is telling the truth just look into his or her eyes. The eyes tell many stories, some sad, some not so sad, some really really happy, some about love, some with lots of empathy in them and some about the character of the person, whether he or she is strong or weak. In the West making eye contact is so critically important in our lives that if you suffer with Aspergers Syndrome then it becomes a tough challenge and could mean a world of difference between living a socially normal or lonely life. In some other cultures though, particularly from the East, looking at someone straight in the eyes can be interpreted as a mark of disrespect, especially if that someone is older or more senior in ranking than you. We often say to a woman that she has beautiful eyes or the most beautiful eyes depending on the degree of our relationship with her. Oh yes and don’t forget we all have our favorite song or quote about the eyes. Wish I could tell you mine but that I understand would be telling wouldn’t it? Anyway, today we’ve decided to tweak the format of our poetry a tiny weeny bit, hopefully so that you could feel more comfortable and excited. Ric, who was supposed to be giving us one of his poems according to our schedule, has chosen to read instead in true spoken word style a poem that is written by another famous POTCarian (yes, we’re all made of stardust if you haven’t heard yet). So while Ric is reading just sit back and relax because it’s Friday already and make sure that our Stevie keeps his eyes on the ball.
