So.....my educational background is in psychology. Just throwing that out there before I post.....everybody is posting about how shocked they are over Robin Williams apparent suicide. Is it sad and tragic? Absolutely. Is it shocking not at all. Robin Williams was clearly severely bi-polar, which means that in order to have the kind of manic way up behavior we all loved, there had to be lows. Lows Ive heard described by many as being a hopeless abyss. Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon phenomenon among those with serious mental illness. Sometimes it seems the only\best option. I hope he has found some kind of peace & dont mean to lessen the seriousness of the situation in any way, just expressing my views & sharing what knowledge I have on the subject.
