So my flight just got turned around and had to make an emergency landing. Apparently there was a failure in the planes hydraulic system. While the crew did a good job of keeping everybody calm and relaxed, I actually had the slight misfortune of sitting next to a pilot, who told me that hed been flying for 40 years, and has never experienced an emergency landing, and that the hydraulics affect the planes ability to stop on the runway. This didnt really help keep me at ease. Everyones fine, the landing went smoothly. But I realized in the moments before we landed, while I was looking at a line of fire trucks and paramedics waiting for a potential disaster...I didnt have time to call everyone I know and tell them what they mean to me. Not trying to be overly sappy or emotional. I didnt really think I was going to die or anything. But I did think that it would be a shame if something like that were to happen before being able to tell everyone just how much they mean to me. Ive had such an amazing life. And I am truly happy. And this is because of all the people I have ever come into contact with. Whether you have been a close friend for years, or if we have just met in passing, you have affected my life. You have helped make me an incredibly happy man. Im so grateful to know all of you. Be well, and give someone nearby a hug. I hugged that pilot sitting next to me. It was a bit awkward, though. Maybe hug someone you know.
