So, my healthcare provider—shes not a doctor, but a nurse - TopicsExpress

So, my healthcare provider—shes not a doctor, but a nurse practitioner—whos been taking care of my medical needs for two years now—is quitting the medical clinic where I go for healthcare. The reason is, they were asking her to see a ridiculous number of patients a day (since Obamacare came into effect), and she didnt feel she could give the patients adequate care under those circumstances. So she is going to a private practice in Vail, Colorado (an expensive skiing resort town). This was predicted by many people when Obamacare was being discussed—that you cannot simply throw a switch and take care of more people with the same amount of medical staff you had before. Doctors do not have to accept Medicare, Medicaid, or Obamacare—and the best ones will not, simply because they dont have to. So as more and more medical and health professionals flee to practices where they DONT accept Obamacare (or leave the profession altogether, which is also happening), the poor are left with even fewer and fewer healthcare providers—and, to put it bluntly, the least capable ones. Meanwhile, those who already had healthcare will face skyrocketing costs, including substantially higher insurance premiums (which weve obviously already been seeing). So, yeah, I suppose someone will say that crappy healthcare is better than NO healthcare—But! I guess thats what happens when a community organizer tries to reorganize something he knows nothing about—an industry which comprises one-sixth of the worlds largest economy. Thanks, again, Barry.
