So my late lunch / dinner conversation with Zella today, goes like this....Well, Zella...tomorrow were gonna head over to the Beaches for the Jazz / Street Fest...and were gonna be out all day long. Its gonna be a long day...but, its gonna be a lot of fun. Theres gonna be a bunch of bands playing all down the street..at the same the same time.... Ok?. Zella...Do I have a choice?....I just love her awareness of situations with me...and my eyes start to jet back and forth....and then I reply, Well, no, Hun..you dont have a choice..but, its gonna be fun.., still trying really hard to sell her on the idea of how we should spend our ENTIRE Saturday. Then, she surprises me with, Ok..cool, Mom..lets take transit (streetcar) there.., and Im like..Oh, no, Hun..thatll take us forever to get across the city.., and shes like,No, Mom...Transit Rocks!!!!...and Im like....who is this kid??? and when will Zella be returned????? Transit rocks????? Is she workin for the TTC????? Ok....So, I try to use some logic on all 6 & 3/4 years of herself.......and I explain...Zella...if we take the streetcar, all the way from Mimico..out to the Beaches..thats gonna take us like two hours..and then, at the end of a late night...its gonna take us another two hours to get home!!!! We need to drive......to which she replies, Mom...thats ok...Theres no hurry....Itll be fun...lets take transit.....to which I was just, humbled..thinking of the simple things in this life, that can make us happy. Sometimes my most valuable...deep...spiritual...soulful lessons in this life, come by way of the Short Person!!!!
