So, my little monarch butterfly, Micah, is looking a little worse - TopicsExpress

So, my little monarch butterfly, Micah, is looking a little worse for the wear. I found him with injured wings almost a month ago, and have been trying my best to take care of him. But he was meant to fly, beautiful and high, and his attempts to do so in his geranium enclosure have served only to damage his fragile wings and one of his legs by beating so hard against the sides of his enclosure. Still, he hangs on. Im amazed at his tenacity. Yet his stubbornness doesnt serve him well, when it comes to feeding. I have tried many things to help him feed more easily, especially soaking cotton balls in sugar water. But his instinct to feed off flowers is so strong, he isnt taking in the nutrients I put right in front of him on his own. In my research, I found that a toothpick can help unroll his probiscis (feeding tube). So Ive learned how to hold him gently with 2 fingers while he wiggles about, right on top of a spoonful of sugar water, while using a toothpick to gently unroll his feeding tube (probiscis) right into the sugar water. It takes many tries before he finally calms down and places his feeding tube in the water and then drinks in all the nutrients. Making him stronger to live another day. This morning, while going through this routine, I was reminded of how I am just like Micah sometimes when it comes to feeding my spirit. God has placed all that I need for a full and abundant life, right in front of me (His Word, His creations, His Love). Yet, many times, I find He has to hem me in, to the point where I have no other distractions, and the only thing I can see (finally), is the food (Bible) He has put right in front of me. To feed on. To nourish my spirit and my soul. Lord, help me instinctively act on what I know when it comes to being nourished in my spirit and soul; instead of You have to hem me in and force feed me when I get too stubborn.
