So, my oldest sons birth father threw away his baby book, years ago when I let him borrow it to learn more about his son, and maybe write something nice to him as I had done(since there was a dedicated section of the book for a letter from Mommy, and one from Daddy as well).. I have been devastated by this for almost 10 years, until yesterday when going through some old stuff I had put away of him and I found a few ultrasounds, a baggie with hair from his 1st haircut, and some notes that I had written to him in a smaller book that was extra at the time.. but now is all I have left.. I may not have our hospital bracelets, all the letters I wrote him throughout my pregnancy, all the ultrasounds, and his very 1st pictures from the hospital and those first few months.. but as I look back now, I realize although I may be left with only a few small mementos of his 1st year, I still got the best part.. I got my son, and 10 years of memories that ONLY I HAVE, and a lifetime of memories to come!! No one can take those things from me no matter what!! I love you Darian!!
