So... my partner Dan and I swapped out earlier in Idaho on our way to Wamsutter, WY and after we got rolling, Dan made the fateful comment, Gee, we havent broken down in like... two weeks or so. I look over at him and say, You know you just jinxed us, right? Fast forward to about two-thirds of the way through my drive shift. I hear a zipppppp and a loud bang from under the hood just west of Green River, WY on our way back to Portland after the meet. Now, those are not normal sounds and certainly not what I want to to hear at odark thirty on a Saturday in the middle of nowhere. I pulled over and looked. The hose clamp that secured the air-to-air hose to the bottom of the turbo broke and blew the air-to-air hose right off. Soooooo... I was able to limp it into Little America, where I got to rouse a less-than-excited after-hours truck mechanic to wander down and fix our truck up. Needless to say... Dan is gonna get a piece of my mind when he wakes up. He jinxed us, Im telling you...
