So my research paper is intended to help me make a decision between a career in music or engineering. Both sides of statistics are depressing. A degree in engineering currently means that Im one of 5.8 million Americans hoping for a job in that field. Musician careers are as mercurial as expected. Thankfully, it does seem that there are greater overall opportunities for a person in the liberal arts, as they have more desirable qualities that employers look for such as creativity, personal relations, etc... Unfortunately, thats coupled with a stigma. A degree in any sort of Art doesnt sound as immediately appealing as the word Engineering. The demand for S.T.E.M. employees is incredibly low, but sounds better on paper. Art SOUNDS worse, but has more potential opportunities in-field, but not out of it. Ugh... is there such thing as Sound Engineer?
