So my roommate, Xavier Rucker and I, walked into Family Dollar to buy some butter. It is raining outside and were running to get out of the rain. The lady at the counter looked at us and said Hey! Take off your hood. the way that she said it was NOT customer friendly, Xavier paused and said GUUUUURRRLLLLL, I decided to act like she said it nicely but my spirit felt bothered and uncomfortable. After buying the butter Xavier and I walked out. As we were walking out the lady looked at us until we left the store. Once I got in my car Xavier was like We should call their Cooperate/District Manager. This is the funny part so I hopped out my car and walked into the store and asked the second lady at the counter for their Cooperate number...heres what happened next: Lady 2: Uh...yeah sure! Lady 1: Hes calling because I asked him and his friend to take off their hood. Me: Maam I do apologize but thats not the reason why Im calling. Its all about how it was delivered and I honestly dont feel comfortable in here. Lady 1: *Proceeds to get sassy* Well...I mean you should take off your hood. Me: Mrs.(Lady 1 name), I work in a call center and I worked jobs where you have to deliver great customer service and on top of that I have a Bachelor Degree, so please save the explanation. The hood was never the issue, the real issue is how you said it. Side note: In my mind I was thinking that it was my color and my size. I do apologize if I thought on a child level...its just how I felt at that moment. Lady 1: Well...I mean...I asked an 80 year old man to... Me: Maam please...no need to continue this discussion. Please... Lady 1: *Turning red* Well... I just asked... Me: Mrs. (Lady 1 name)...please no need to explain. Listen...it was the way you delivered it. Thats all...you had your chance to apologize but instead you decided to stand here and attempted to look innocent. Theres no reason to explain yourself. Lady 2: Here you go! 😊* Hands me the paper then I turn to leave the store* Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddd scene! 🎬
