So my sweet, brave girl has decided to move forward with surgery this fall. She knows she is beautiful as she is, but has decided to have the large mark (some type of mole most likely) on her face removed as well as Stage 1 of two-stage SMILE surgery. This has been solely her decision and I know it wasnt made lightly -- she contemplates endlessly, thats for sure. And honestly, watching her make this decision has made me so proud of who she is and how she is owning her syndrome. So back to the OR soon! (Please no negative comments as I had to delete one a few weeks ago - we all know she is beautiful how she is but we do not know what it is like to walk in her shoes and no one has the right to question her decision).
