So nice to be able to gt out of bed this morning and not have to worry about running another Marathon. Actually, I can rephrase that and say that is was so nice to actually go to bed as some nights last week I wasnt even able to do this because of the running! Anyway, what is really great is that I have a whole day to dedicate to doing extra things for the gang like sorting our rugs and looking at starting on the bran mashes and hot mixes with straights now the weather has turned colder and wet. Yesterday was a really tough as but it was always at the back of my mind that if I kept things steady during the week I might be able to produce something for the animals on the day. And what a day. Couldnt sleep on Saturday night as the rain and wind were just beating down and before the Start and during the first half of the race it really was pretty brutal. I find those conditions really tough as my knee doesnt want to co-operate when it gets wet, let alone wet and cold. It certainly wasnt a course to look for a quick time on as it was very, very undulating with lots of hairpin and tight bends to contend with so, coupled with the weather conditions it was just a matter of getting the job done. I am proud to have been able to finish off my Asheldham 777 with that Win though as it just proves what can be achieved on a vegan diet. As I have always said, it is very hard to get people to listen to words but they cant argue or dispute actions and facts. Percy is absolutely exhausted too. All that sweet eating has made him tired and he needs to build up his energy - by eating more sweets, of course! So today he is spending in his bed listening to one of his all time favorites on his beloved Ferguson Stereogram, Mr Acker Bilk RIP
