So no 24 hours EEG needed. Thank goodness. That thing sucks to deal with when you have a toddler! 10 episodes were caught on the EEG. Also on video as well. Neurology came in and reviewed things , while I felt like I was going to pass out... Whispers on the other side of the room... It was nerve wracking. Anyways....... As I was told, those episodes were NOT seizures. There is a fancy dancy word for them, which I dont remember, but essentially its something he does when he is excited or to express himself because he cant vocalize. Neurology was very confident that he is just communicating ways he feels because he just cant talk to show excitement or any other emotion. HOWEVER, when he was sleeping there was a few spikes. These spikes were still not seizures. It could simply be just how his brain is wired now that he has had seizures , and just means he is predisposed to having them again in the future. Because of these spikes they wanted to monitor him for a couple more hours to see if they could catch more. Tomorrow we will likely be discussing weaning of seizure meds. This honestly terrifies me, but some of it will be done in hospital setting to make sure something nasty doesnt pop up. Hope some of this made sense, a lot doesnt even make sense to me. All I got was, he isnt having seizures, but he is predisposed to them, and could get them again in the future.
