So normally I would never ever in a million years ask for help. Im the helper and giver and I like being independent. However when it comes to my kids its a whole different story. As you know my son Tristan Rush is at boot camp for the Marines. Last week I got a letter from his drill instructor stating that he can get protein bars. There are specific kinds. Catch is. There has to be enough for every member of the platoon before anyone including my son gets them. I got a letter from Tristan today. The first line read. I got the gift you sent and thank you so much! My platoon is thankful for moms like you. On the back it says Thank you from platoon 3009. One of the recruits commented stating that that protein bar was their Christmas gifts. Many of the recruits thanked me. I have never been more pround. So even though I am extremely independent. I cannot afford to keep paying out almost $200 so that those young men can get protein bars. So Im asking for help. Not for me, not even just for Tristan. I am asking for help to give the young men in this platoon something that may seem so silly to us but gives them something to look forward to. Something to enjoy. After all these young men are learning how to do what the need to do to. So that someday they can protect or freedom, our country and in some cases our lives. Dont you think they deserve it?
