Karan Singh’s elder son to join PDP MUDDASIR ALI Srinagar, Aug 5: Vikramaditya Singh, elder son of veteran Congress leader Karan Singh, is all set to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Sources told Greater Kashmir that Vikramaditya would be formally welcomed into the party fold by the PDP patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed at a function in Jammu on August 8. Vikramaditya is the grandson of the Maharaja Hari Singh. His younger brother Ajatshatru Singh is a senior leader of the ruling National Conference. Born in 1964, Vikramaditya completed his higher studies in the University of Southern California, USA. In 1987, he married Rajkumari Chitrangada Raje Scindia, daughter of late Madhav Rao Scindia of Gwalior, who also was a senior Congress leader. Vikramaditya celebrated his 50th birthday here today. Vikramaditya is at present looking after his hotel business in Himachal Pradesh. He was instrumental in setting up the Royal Kashmir Polo Foundation and revived the family Polo team. Presently, Vikramaditya is a Trustee of JK Dharmarth Trust that was formed by his ancestor and the founder ruler of the Jammu and Kashmir State, Maharaja Gulab Singh.
