So often we attempt to repent and grieve over sins we confessed to the Lord long ago. He forgave us. He broke the power of that sin long ago. Regret is a wonderful emotion because it serves as a signpost to never walk that way again but dont confuse regret with shame or heaven forbid, conviction. 1 John 1:9 A confessed sin, from a repentant heart, is a forgiven sin. I think when we try to dig up old sins by excessive belly gazing, we are in danger of falling into the grave and bringing back to life what was dead and buried. Walk away from the graveyard of your past failures, old thought patterns and sins, walk into the freedom Christ paid for you. (Katherine Walden)
