So....okay I dont want this to seem demeaning but I really wanted to put this out there yet again. If youre going to get a dog, get a breed that is specific to your lifestyle and please research said breed. All too often I see people say Oh I want this kind of dog and mostly because theyre so adorable to them. Ive seen too many people who have decided to get a Husky only to be surprised that if not trained well enough they can turn into serious assholes. Hell lets be honest here, nearly all huskies (trained or not) are assholes. I also love pitbulls but I would not be able to have one because the dog I have now is already one that takes an alpha dominance role every time theres another dog in her environment. Although the other dog, a pit, was an absolutely sweetheart and defied the nasty stereotype the breed has, because chalimar felt she was the leader, she picked a fight with said pit and nearly lost her ear, lip was punctured and if Leon hadnt managed to pry her head out of the jaw, she could have died. Im not saying one breed is better than the other but please keep these things in mind when you choose a breed as your companion or the other dogs. We have enough unwanted animals in shelters due to poor breed research, poor training, or poor understanding of your own living circumstances.
