So once again I will go against the grain (surprize, surprize) commenting on the huge box office hit this weekend that I was hoping to love but barely liked. A darling of critics and the audience I found Interstellar to be an hour too long (2:45) and at times completely boring. The human story on earth is well done but the space mumbo jumbo lost me. The always reliable Matthew McConaughey is excellent but with this performance I think he is attempting the Marlon Brando school of method acting with his low talking (or at least that Seinfeld low talker episode) and at times barely audible. Recommended if you have 3 hours to kill and a state of the art hearing aid. I do think, however, Im seeing a trend here with my movie going likes as I did not care for last years huge hit space film Gravity and more recently Guardians of the Galaxy. Guess Im just a down to earth boy.... Post Script: If you want to see a really excellent McConaughey rent Mud...it was barely in theatres a few years ago but some of his best work ;-)
