So one of the reasons the Ward 9 facebook page was set up was and is to build a stronger community with the families, friends and residents of Ward 9 and also share information with each other we may think is valuable to other families and residents within our neighborhood. So with that being said what would you feel about a neighborhood picnic or family play date? This would be a great opportunity for families, children and residents to meet and have a day of fun, eats and really get to know each other. I know this is early to talk about for an event for the spring or summer and winter climbing on our door step but we would need some time and volunteers to help set this neighborhood family day up and we would really need to plan it out well. Some idea’s that were mentioned were as follows; •We can invite the Nashua Police Officer’s and Fire Fighters that serve and protect our neighborhood to come and meet us so we know who they are by name and face? (Sector 6 & 12; that’s our neighborhood on the police radio and usually the same patrolman are assigned to the sector as scheduled and same with the fire fighters and fire station(s) I believe?) •We can invite the teachers also if they wish to come. •We can plan interactive family games so families can get to know each other better. •See if we use the field in front of the New Searles Elementary School for the event (we will check with Mr. Harding) •Bouncy Houses and family Olympic type events... There are so many activities and events we can do and have so much fun with and that’s why we need volunteers to help plan this day. We also have some folks within our community that would like to donate some goods and money towards the cost if needed? They wish to remain anonymous which I can totally understand, they just love our community and being a part of it.
