So our fab 4 commissioners are excited that CCA is going to build a $2.8M animal shelter for us. Surely they understand that it doesnt mater who we borrow from: Nature Coast, Brannen, SunTrust, CCA, etc, its still putting us $2.8M deeper in debt to solve a problem that can be solved much cheaper, and without saddling taxpayers with more debt. If were going to borrow stupid amounts of money, why not borrow from our local banks to keep the interest here? Their spending spree remains out of control. Several years ago one commissioner said We dont have a spending problem, we have a revenue problem.
