So over the last 5 weeks, Id changed my eating habits, why? so I could experiment and see what else I could learn as to how my body responds in fitness orientated goals. As most of you whove been following my page for a while now know, I like to carb cycle, and have used Paleo as a guideline (but not an absolute rule) I went from a very low carb (border ketogenic) eating routine and slowly eased myself into a more conventional 40/40/20 split. Here is what I found: Strength: No increase nor decrease in strength at all, Some 1RMs increased one week, then decreased the next. Endurance: Longer distance cycling (how I commute to work) became much easier with heightened carb intake, but I experienced so almighty hunger pangs from the increased carb intake. No increase or decrease in sprint times (tested over the 5 weeks) Personal Aesthetics: although looking much fuller, I look a little softer in my most recent progress pic (not the granite look) Conclusion: It was very interesting to see how a higher carb intake made me feel and perform, I however, do feel that the lower carb higher fat eating regimen is more personally preferable, going to dial back into my carb cycling from Sunday 17/8/14. :-)
