So pathetic and lame seeing these Republican politicians piss and moan about how the re-engaging of relations and the end of the embargo with Cuba only benefits the Castro brothers. Total and unequivocal bullshit. This will benefit EVERYONE. There are no losers. It will create jobs for Cubans AND Americans. How about the travel industry? Hell, think Ill finance a big-ass power boat and charter excursions from the Keys to Cuba. There will be contractors put to work, films will be made there, trade and exchange, on and on and on...What we have done with this prehistoric half-century water-under-the-bridge embargo, is give Castro an excuse for why the Cuban people remain oppressed. He blames us. Now this excuse is lifted, the prison is unlocked, and the Cuban people will be freed from these dark ages that WE have put them in. As far as I am concerned, our fencing off and imposed isolation of this beautiful island a mere 90 miles from Key West has been our very own Berlin Wall. I am also oppressed by my own country when it tells me where and where I am not free to go. I applaud the President for this bold and exciting move, and have no tolerance or patience for the naysayers. Your arguments hold no water. If your reasons are because of Castros mistreatment of his people, of which those days are coming to an end, thanks to this historic happening, then you need to also piss and moan about China and Russia and the continent of Africa and many other countries that we trade with and vacation in who are no better. Your hypocrisy is so pathetic and your rantings and ravings so lame and weak that they are not even worthy of the respect of hearing out. This is where I part ways with conservatives who are throwing a tantrum over this. I agree with the what the President says on this--you cannot keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect different or better results. I am very, very excited about this. I love the Gulf Coast and the Ocean and the Carribean and anything that has to do with lots of sunshine and warm weather and beaches and swaying palm trees. These are the things of life. It will be so wonderful to see this rustic and colorful and historic island-nation of Cuba come to life. Mr. President, thank you for tearing down this wall.
