So people, I just wanted to let you all know that my father not only has a Facebook, but he has also became my Facebook friend. But dont worry my friends. My statuses about chicken, scandal, the treadmill, ministers, random prophetic words, me launching various items in the air due to my excitement of something spiritual, or my words about the weather wont change. They will just feature my Dads comments. lol. And if you think Im crazy, my father is hilarious, in his own way. If its one thing that I love about my Dad, I love how he became that Dad-like figure to some of my closest friends. I love the ways in which he prophetically encourages me and tries his best to make my day. I love the fact that he has my back. He sees me as his son, but also as a minister. Many of my friends and associates dont have their father in their lives, for whatever reason. I pray for those who may feel slighted, rejected or even abandoned by their fathers. I pray for those same young men who have now have children (especially sons) of their own and feel unprepared, unequipped, and inexperienced enough to impart anything into their children. Know that even in the midst of your pain, you have been called to break the cycle of male abandonment in your household and in your bloodline. And the best place to start is by not waiting until Christmas, Easter, Birthdays, and Thanksgiving to be visible. More than a superhero, and definitely more than Santa Claus, you are indeed a father. And God will help you carry out that calling.
