So proud and grateful for my Georgia Ballet dancers and crew. First Four Seasons went great! The brave, committed and perceverent people were there with the love and support we all need, to see a vision come through (no matter what) I am proud and honored that those risk takers came through last night, on stage and off stage! Thanks to the fabulous group Fly on the wall and Lisa Lock. Thanks to the Georgia Ballet and Marietta Performing Arts Center staff and Ashleyanne Hensley (costumes) a huge thank you to Michael Carver and the Wolfman Production crew! Scott Nilsson you ve been amazing! To the friends who were there or sent notes or helped by posting on Facebook, thank you! All of this year I have worked on shaping this role of artistic director for the first time in my life, far from all people and places I know, away from a close by familiar entourage for emotional and creative support and away from a quick and easy access network of people for professional and sophisticated advises and protection. For a year now I have done everything I know how to help guide this organization to the visibility it deserves. I push, sometimes maybe too hard, and I stretch, at times maybe too much, the frame in which it has seasoned for years. Some say I burn bridges while I am trying to build new ones... Everybody involved with the Georgia Ballet want the best for its success...(we are still looking to agree on the how;)) we want the dancers to have better proper salaries, we want assistance for the school and the company so that we can better empower its future with safety, strength, intelligence, tolerance, compassion, patience and perseverance. The Georgia Ballet is a hidden jewel still waiting to shine more. We need the help of generous contributors who believe that the arts and artists can and do help shape this world of ours by allowing fearless displays of all emotion to be rethought and staged through beauty, poetry, thought provoking, courage, exciting, entertaining and sometimes important new forms of expression. Through hardships and rurmoils and miss understandings I will continue inviting some of the doubtful, I will continue growing with the wisest, I will continue believing that all of my life and professional experience have value and will be of continuous good use, if I am allowed to do so. The Georgia Ballet just got its first few international touring (first base) invites... I want to see them through. But yes, we need help! Financial! Board members! Network! And the love we can get and share. So again, if you can, please help (visit georgiaballet.org) I love this performing art!!! Thanks to so many artists, choreographers composers, designers, I have learned from, grown with and been inspired by... now thanks to my dancers at the Georgia Ballet!! Come see the show tonight at 8 and tomorrow at 2. Will keep posting on it future...
