So proud of Mallory watching her game last night. She had an orthodontist appointment yesterday and got an expander put in (pretty tough adjustment to having that thing in your mouth) and then found out that the 2nd best player was sick and would not be there. It was basically 2 on 5 and in some ways 1 on 5. She struggled to swallow and breathe with the expander but played the entire game, even with 4-5 girls full court pressing her as she brought up the ball. Their coach threw everyone at Mallory in hopes of getting steals. She still got the ball down most of the time but the other girls on her team (mostly 5th grade beginners) werent able to receive the ball and score. She fought tears the whole time and fought valiantly but they got trounced. The other coach approached her afterwards and said, I told all my girls to guard you and you still got the ball down the court! She will be ready for AAU and club ball this fall for sure.
