So proud of, and inspired by, Ms. Carrie Underwood. Im not crazy about the climate of country music right now, but Im so thrilled that a woman of Carries caliber has been able to break through the glass ceiling and thrive in our format. I feel like most of us women in country music want to be the tellers of true stories, and spreaders of an authentic message. Its unfortunate that the trends in the genre that we love so much dont make a lot of room for girls to do that these days. However, Im grateful that Carries success, talent and character have allowed her the liberties to actually say something in her music. She is a pioneer for the rest of us women who are striving to be genuine artists with our gifts.
