So proud of my hometown!! I was taken aback by all of the love, support and connectivity that I witnessed at Beaumonts first gay pride walk this past Saturday. The evening before I read some very disturbing articles from Amnesty International about how young Russian gay men were being tortured and brutally killed for being gay! The brutal murders were recorded, circulated and shown via social media through out Russia and the world. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, Russias president supports this and believes this will cleanse the country. Our LGBT community has every reason to feel proud of what took place on the streets of our small southern town this past Saturday. It was a safe place full of love and support!!
