So, rant time!! Ive been trying to get onto the media about NAMAd businesses that are killing small traders by offering deals that a small business simply can not compete with. For some strange reason, the radios, papers or tv will bring this story to light. I wonder why??? Basically, NAMAd hotels for example are giving all inclusive deals that are actually loss making if you were to break it down. The Free dinners for example, are actually costing them a small fortune. This is of course great for the customer but let me explain why these properties are doing this. Its quite simple actually. If you are not paying your mortgage (because the taxpayer is for you) its very easy to give stuff away for free. But why would they do this? Because when it comes to NAMA selling these hotels, they want to be able to show a very strong turnover. They wont, however, show how much it actually cost them to achieve this turnover. As, after all, they want to pretend that this is a thriving business for the perspective buyer. Meanwhile, the taxpayer foots the bill but more importantly, their aggressive competition is killing small traders, ie, restaurants and bars. But this is the case with ANY industry that NAMA are involved in. It is obviously a great deal for the customer, short term, but the untold damage that it is causing the economy will be devastating and it will come back to the taxpayer to foot the bill again. What brought me to boiling point was that I just had a Tour Guide in with me and he told me that a Hotel in Killarney (that is NAMAd) is charging €59pp for their Traditional Night. However, they are paying the Guides €20pp for people that they bring in which brings the price back to €39pp for a full dinner and nights entertainment. No one can compete with that!! This is a very high end hotel too so it is clear that this is a loss making concept for them but whoever goes to buy this will have no idea of the €20pp that walks out the door! Maybe by posting here and people sharing this for more people to see whats really going on in this country, we can put an end to the corruption and once and for all get our economy back on track and stop screwing the taxpayers that are already squeezed of every single cent they own! Aghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
