So, reading my morning msn to attempt to get semi-caught up on the world outside of my cave. Reading through the news about missing planes, schoolgirls being held hostage in Nigeria, the Mount Everest disaster, etc. say my prayers in passing, then think.... Hmmmmm. Im gonna lighten things up now and go to my go-to brain cell killer, E! News online to check out the latest in utter non-news and the first thing I see is Rapper cuts off penis and jumps off balcony. Oy. Really? Ok, and for Saturday things that make you go hmmmmmm - Martin sheen, who I like and think hes a great actor, but has a history of being outspoken with some outlandish political views and if Im not mistaken, strong thoughts on gun control etc. and this is unarguably his right, yes? But a rather interesting and rarely discussed fact that his movie The Believers played a huge role in the motivation for all the grotesque occult murders that took place in Mexico in the late 80s and early 90s including the murder of UT student Mark Kilroy. As admitted by the killers themselves. I sometimes wonder if in the middle of all the strongly worded advice on how to make society better, if folks in the industry understand the power of their art, or feel any burden on conscience the way they so badly want others to feel?
