So really gearing up to launch this project. My Name is Cyril J Williams and I am a longtime Canadian visual artist. A few years ago I had an opportunity to build a very large dragon out of assembled and assorted things dug up out of a Northern Ontario farm. It was large (appox 15 feet long and a twenty foot wingspan) but I wanted to go bigger and bigger means lighter. When the opportunity presented itself to bring another dragon to life for FIGMENT I jumped at it. This time around i have as much space as i need and have chosen a lighter upcycled material so I can go much much bigger. Turn it into a dragon rather than stick it in a landfill... Tents that leak... I need them... Old cockeyed fishing rods and leaky umbrellas? Need them too. I will be mentoring twelve volunteers ( I still need a few more - message me at cywilliamsdesign@gmail for additional info) to help me teach the public how to work with the material and to lead our 500 participants over the course of the weekend in building different parts of the dragon. At the end of the first day we will light the dragon up and assemble and raise this beautiful beast to is humongous place in the grass, The second day will be spent working with the public to work out all the kinks... lol I will be needing tons of things for this and hope to get food and water, sunscreen and a canopy for weekend donated and find a downtown location to drop off and store materials leading up to the day. I could also use a strong canoe operator, We have access to the boat but most of us are a little rusty. Stay tuned for more details dragons, dragons and more dragons!
