So recently on the news I watched a story about the National Party campaigning in South Auckland and a number of Pacific leaders publicly voicing the need for a change and that they will no longer be voting for the Labour Party anymore. Misa Fia Turner publicly stated that she no longer supported the Labour Party because they headed Marriage Equality and that Gay Marriage goes against hers and Pacific morals!? Like seriously? Do Pasefika LGBTQI peoples not exist in your community Fia? Have you considered the health and well being of Pasefika LGBTQI peoples? No you havent because you believe we shouldnt exist! you hold bigoted values and beliefs that are archaic and not Pacific! You believe deep in your rooted religious values and beliefs that we have no place or right because your bible says so! Honestly your words insight hate! your words make me cringe at the fact you think Pacific families dont have LGBTQI persons in them, and as a local area politician you think it is not your job to advocate for the health and well being of LGBTQI peoples yet you advocate for families, guess what, we all belong to families too?!?!?! The majority counts to you aye Fia, and you are in no way progressive, and any Pacific person who sings your tune is a blinded bigot who has lost the true essence of being a Pasefika person! Shame on you Misa Fia Turner and all you other Pacific leaders who still keep using marriage equality to exclude people from their communities and shame on the National Party for even thinking that revoking Marriage Equality is your selling point to gain the Pacific vote. Meanwhile we have a number of Pasefika LGBTQI peoples who experience violence on a daily basis, homelessness, no access to health services, bullying within schools, lack of employment opportunities, discrimination both institutional and systemic and hate purged by Politicians who publicly tell others why LGBTQI peoples do not matter or fit in with societal norms or standards! We LGBTQI peoples are too tax payers, are too christians, are too Pasefika, we contribute in so many positive ways so please stop denying our right to exist! Shame on you all! Your hate ends lives!
