So... remember Leaf Night from the other night at Awana? One of the little girls in Amélies group said she smelled like a weed. I asked Amélie what she said to her (I was so mad) and she said, Well, I tried to be nice. I told her that herbs are very good, they grow in the garden and you can eat them. ----- I am a little stunned at how Momma Lion came roaring up. I had to check myself lest Amélie catch on - especially when she so sweetly said, Well I tried to be nice. I tried to explain that most little 6 years olds have never heard of herbs. She said, Really?? How can that be? ----- I just hate that she got made fun of. Shes so tender and sweet. ---- This summer on the beach Aidan was playing with a bunch of boys and I noticed they all suddenly laughed. He shared with me later that they laughed at him when they told him he lives on a farm. My heart ached for him. I hated that he had to hold his own while others mocked him. (And he dished it back BTW) I know it wont be the last time and that makes me even more mad. I swear, like I always joke, Id shove em back inside if I could.
