So sad to hear of my Aunt Ruths passing today. It is hard to believe. In my mind, she was always so strong, vibrant, and independent. She always greeted me with a smile, and almost always had a small gift for me. Rarely was she empty handed, whether it was a shirt she picked up on sale at Mardens, some home made cookies wrapped in foil, a container of bread pudding, a couple slices of apple blackberry pie, a jar of pickles, some mittens or socks she found at a yard sale, whatever it might be. It seemed like she was always thinking about me. Yet, I know she did the same for many others. I could never out give Aunt Ruth. Her greatest gift was and still is, her love for me and so many others. I will miss her very much.
