So sad to say that I wont make it to Rapid today....I have a really long face about it too.....I was so excited to read my poem The Storm Atlas tonight at the BHSS Ranch Rodeo Finals, but Mother Nature has other plans. Shane and I discussed it and decided that its just too big of a chance to take. Its just not smart to be out there with the chance of -30 and blowing snow tonight. We have critters to care for.....they and my son always come first.....we have a responsibility to ensure that they are cared for in all kinds of weather....no matter what (the life of a rancher). Hopefully there will be other opportunities for me ahead to read it and maybe others Ive composed.....if not, Im content knowing that it will be read by someone tonight even though I cant be there. Time to quit pouting and put a smile back on my face. Im going to use this opportunity to do some cleaning and Ill definitely be baking something today....when the world hands you lemons.....bake Lemon Bars!! :)
