So since Im not feeding her pellets its likely caused by calcium deficiency. (Or high heat/humidity can also cause it) but eclectus are prone to toe tapping as they have a very delicate balance required in vitamins - too much like a pellet diet will cause it, too little - such as insufficient variety in her diet can cause it, insufficient washing of her fruits & veggies can cause it. Nomming on metal can cause it - after jewel that is NOT an issue with Olivia. So many causes... she did have an unusually high quantity of pistachio nuts with me yesterday - a treat and she was begging so I shared and gave her maybe 10 - which is more than she would normally ever have in one sitting. Its possibly that combined with humidity/high heat. But Im going to try to go back to making her a chop like I did for a while before. She will eat more variety in a chop - otherwise she rarely nibbles on the vitamin rich kale & broccoli. :-/
