So...since beginning high school in August, Harrison has spent as much time at school than he has at home. If you count the 2-3 hours of dumb homework he does NIGHTLY and on WEEKENDS, he spends MORE time involved in school than in anything else. He leaves at 7:30 am and I pick him up at 6:15pm. On game days, he may not be home until after 10. With football it was one night a week. With baseball it is several nights a week. And some weekends. He told me yesterday that since going back to school after Christmas he has had time to play his guitar once. He cant go to youth on Wednesdays because of practices. His life is school, homework and athletics. And he carries 4 AP classes. And Colin is In the same boat in middle school, he just doesnt have as large of a homework load. The more I think about it I just dont know if this is ok. Im all about making them strong and independent and responsible and awesome, but Im also about family and life and we only have him home for three more years. Just processing life a little bit and not sure what I think about it!
