So since we started this page I have had a chance to play quite a few games that where new to me. This Saturday at Wanda and Randall’s house we got to try Space Cadets Dice Duel with 8 players. OMG this was fun! I really enjoyed it, however in rereading the rules I found that I had taught a few things wrong. First, I completely nerfed the shields. Then, I made the tractor beams and targeting sensors too strong with another mistake. My guess is with correct rules the game would take slightly longer as getting through the shields is considerably harder. Also, maneuvering would become more important as a ship would need considerably more targeting sensors to hit the enemy vessel. The good news is that we all played with the same mistaken rules so at least it was fair. Lastly I took a look at the expansion. I see a purchase in my future. What would be really cool would be to get a couple of boxes of this game and a lot more players and have an EPIC space battle. I have a huge playing surface that would be great for this purpose. Needless to say I am really excited about this game and can’t wait to play it again… With the rules taught correctly… Sorry guys.
