So someone rather Saad Hassan wrote me this mail:) and it is the sweetest thing I ever read ... had to reproduce it :) Saad Looobbbeeee you ... you made me verrryyy happppyyyy Hi Ginnie, Well, I should be writing this to the whole team of 91.1FM, but sloth prevents me from straining my faculties to find their e-mail address, and moreover I believe that you easily represent 91.1FM. First, let me express my unreserved admiration for the whole team.... From a self-righteous, indignant, Ginnie, who would whip our dust-laden conscience, point fingers at our hypocrisies, and niggle politicians for their inconsistencies, but also shed intersperse songs with some light-hearted banter. From frolicking to brooding, we went through all ... to a delightful narcissist, Divya for whom ecstasy is a norm- inanities served with guffaws from studio to make our day happier. Sometimes I laughed so hard that my bowels hurt, not because the joke was funny, but I thought its incredible for someone to pull off such a joke....Or Aadi who has a thing for slapstick humor, ironically most of them would not be jokes if India were not so prude; though his infrequent invocation of Sunny Leone tickled our funny bone. You cant be sad for long in his company...Or Ayaaz who appeared sophisticated and eloquent...his style & mannerism permeated to our living rooms! Ive virtually listened to all hues and shades of 91.1FM, and I express my gratitude for being a witness to all of them! Thank You! You know better than me, that in the times of I-pod, the success of a Radio channel which broadcasts audible song isnt solely dependent upon the quality of songs, but the listener-DJ conversation is also integral to it...Now that I, along with many of my friends, have moved to US to pursue higher-studies, we miss India like crazy! Having said that, one can still avail virtually everything Indian...from cuisines, customs, culture, color, caste & religion(particularly the last two, yes our obsession with trivialities)... except for a peek inside a regular day in India! So, heres my wishful plea...at the cost of sounding like a complete imbecile let me ask you that is it commercially feasible for 91.1FM to broadcast their programs to USs shore? Or can you please forward this request to them? Can they come up with something? Probably, sometime we can also tune into your chit-chat to peek into your lives. Isnt that what a good conversation does, to give you an insight into peoples life...of course listening to Indian songs is never the issue...but maybe we can just hear about the crack of a dawn brimming with energy, in India , while we quietly slip into the darkness. May be we can hear the cries of Suno Na Dilli and funny banters from Indians, when we lay motionless in our blankets...I see that Ive niggled you with a long essay, if you go onto read, therefore Ill stop here. But, I hope you keep niggling the conscience of the country!
