So, someone tried to use my debit card to buy $200+ worth of groceries at at a Publix in Douglasville, GA. However, I was 1600+ miles away and out of the country with my card, when they tried to do this. Luckily, Bank of America was smart enough to recognize this and cancelled my card immediately. They texted, emailed, and called me continuously until they were able to reach me. BOA even offered to wire me money if I needed it! a. How do people steal this kind of information? b. Who can buy groceries without presenting an actual card? c. Who lets someone try to buy groceries without an actual card?
