So... something we learned on this hiking trip... Catty is afraid of heights. Just like her daddy was. (Although he was too manly to admit it, of course!) But Devin and I are like goats - we have this natural urge to climb higher and higher, to always see whats over the next hill. Catty, like her dad, would refuse to look down, turn around, or go anywhere near the edge of a rock face. I tried and tried to get a cute picture of Catty peeking over the edge with Devin directly below her. Catty got hysterical and wouldnt listen to any amount of reason or logic. Now that its done, we are both laughing hard about it - I said, Catty come ON! Your entire body was lying safely on the ground - how the heck are your legs going to fly over your head and pull your body off the edge of the cliff?? Catty, even a smarta$$ when shes terrified, replied, Well what if you forgot to pay the gravity bill?? LMAO!!! I understand that a fear of heights is just one of those things that makes logic fly out the window. I feel the same way when I see a spider. Who else is brave enough to admit what their crazy irrational fears are??
