So the 4 local housing Authoritys have enough land to produce 85,000 social and affordable homes... Will it happen you may ask..?? Well if i was a gambler id say NO.. now as we all know the waiting list depends on were you are in the country or Dublin... Laoise co.co have a more realistic waiting time of 2-4 years.. South Dublin co.co. 6-10 years, fingal co.co 4-8 years, Dublin city co.co. 8-10 years, and then weve got the worst housing authority in the history of the state...?? Yes you guessed it Dun-laoghaire rathdown, who knows what way their housing policy works?? Grandmothers waiting 18 years for a house and nothing then people who have spent little or no time on the list housed under the blanket of priority or medical which are sometimes genuine but everytime they ignore the housing needs of RAS tenants they place a family at risk of becoming homeless, dun-laoghaire rathdown will tell you whatever lies they feel like in order to ignore your housing needs... Absolute shambles and disgrace of a country Council, but with the likes of Cllr Gerry horkan FF and Cllr Bailey FG (landlords) at the top of the Councils committee weve no chance.. NO TO RAS,NO TO HAP, NO TO RENT ALLOWANCE, all these paths lead to homelessness... The next time a housing protest is taking place i urge everyone to put their differences aside and come together, remember you could be one of the 800 familys to become homeless in 2015.!!!
