So the NHS (National Health Service) in Great Britain is - TopicsExpress

So the NHS (National Health Service) in Great Britain is crumbling. The Tories, seeking to get more services transitioned to the private sector, have fallen prey to the oldest temptation in politics - cronyism. The Left wing Labor, have laid the blame for the woes of the NHS on the Tories reforms, while demanding ever greater funding for the system. Unfortunately, both are right. The Tories know the system requires privatizing reforms, but they cant resist dipping into the till by steering contracts to donors and friends who simply bleed the Treasury for substandard results. All the while, the Lefts argument for greater involvement grows stronger because of the thievery of the cronyists. Weve seen the same processes occur here. It is a simple thing to understand... whatever the service or program, when government controls it, it by necessity becomes political. This is why we limit government. In this instance, the answer wont be to fully privatize, or to increase taxpayer funding (which cannot be done and still maintain an economy) the answer will be an increased rationing of care and a sharp increase in deep sedation deaths, which were already on the rise before these latest troubles. As always, Liberalism kills, and unfortunately, a corrupt private sector enables it by placing greed over quality.
