So the council have been round taking extra bins away. Im all for encouraging recycling. Ive spent enough years nagging retailers over it. But the recommendation for 1 bin unless you have more than five in the household is wrong. I personally recycle as much as possible and yet I fill my general waste to full capacity every fortnight and there is only me and Alan with 3 kids for two nights every fortnight. It really cant be done. For one they will not accept any other plastics but bottles and yet retailers will still pack your Christmas gifts in silly amounts of it! Get a grip councils and accommodate these other recyclables! This is only a good thing to stop those that have way too many bins and too lazy to segregate. But its penny pinching cut backs and penalising people who are genuinely minimising waste and recycling faced with packaging issues and an incompetent council who will not address other recycling options!
