So, the girls lost tonight. Could rant and rave about bad officiating etc. But my focus is on this amazing group of girls. I am really going to miss watching the seniors: Tekerah, Emily and Mariah play. They still are the cinderella story. They are a bunch of girls that believed in each other and put ND girls soccer on the map. No one will ever think of them as a warm up team again. I know family and friends had to endure soccer posts, and for the most part, great wins. But when we looked at ND, we looked at the previous years record.. saw the 1-15 and I remember Delaney saying, were going to have to change that. Last year, they started coming together, surprised a few teams and definitely showed potential. This year, they had 2 seniors, 3 juniors, 5 sophomores and 1 freshman. ....and showed teams with mostly seniors and juniors, that they deserved recognition. This team grabbed the headlines, the news crews and the fan base. But most of all they made History and no one can ever take that away from them. Hold your heads high Lady Lancers!! You gave us so much joy ... watching you play!
