So the heavens opened upon us and that magical stuff called rain fell in a rather big bucket load. We received 45mm (180 points, so not quite 2 inches) in about an hour, then we received another 6.4mm (25.6 points) up until 9.50pm, with it still lightly drizzling. We have been EXTREMELY lucky in the past week or so with these rain totals. My heart goes out to those who have missed out and hope your turn comes VERY soon. Though we have had this lovely rain, we really need a BIG FLOOD. This is the Channel Country and it needs flooding. Though there is green pick, it is sparse over all. The area around the house is sandy and therefor it has responded magnificently. In the next couple of days we will see if our dams have had any water run into them from tonights storm. But at least our main creek that we pump our house and a lot of our stock water out of has had a run in it and its full to the top. This brings us great relief on the water front.
